The Canadians were flabbergasted! Five Austrian bundles of energy (members of staff of Sohm GmbH) performed magic by taking the contents of one container and building the first floor of Austria House at Whistler. Precise, fast and with a high level commitment, they assembled the first part of the passive house at a rapid pace.
A lot of spectators were watching from the hoarding and were absolutely sold on how quickly they did it. The Canadians are not familiar with the solid prefabricated members manufactured by Sohm for timber construction work as they are used to post-and-lintel wood construction. Numerous questions were answered, and there was a great deal of interest in the construction style, the energy-saving potential of the passive house concept, and in the materials of the various sponsors that were used.
