IG Passivhaus Österreich (Passive House Interest Group, Austria) – a cross-industry network:
They are as varied as the athletes arriving from all over the world to compete with each other in the many sporting competitions in Canada. They stand for a piece of eternity and a breeze of Zeitgeist. They all adhere to the great principle of committing to and fighting for a future where a dependency on fossil fuels will finally be passé:
we are, of course, talking of passive houses.

As a cross-industry network – mainly consisting of small and medium-sized businesses – the Passive House Interest Group takes the leading position in the drive for energy-efficiency and sustainability in the construction sector. Austria’s leading passive house specialists cooperate under this independent umbrella association with a view to establishing the passive house standard as a minimum requirement for new buildings and sanitation. Therewith quality of life, comfort and coziness can be achieved to an unmatchable extent.
As a competent consultancy panel for construction workers, public authorities, media organizations, political parties, lobbyists, NGOs and research institutions, as well as convention and trade fair organizers, we are both national and international partners for several projects and initiatives.
Owing to our consistent development work and further training we have contributed considerably to the high quality of the passive house standard. In the last 14 years this building standard has taken a market share of 25% of new buildings in Austria: we are taking a globally leading role in passive housing.
