Everything was completed in time and the brilliance of the Austria House shines out. The ventilation system from drexel und weiss will subtly circulate clean and fresh air for the guests, and the windows from OPTIWIN allow awe-inspiring views for everybody.
Without our general contractor Thomas Sohm from Holzbau Sohm and his team – on behalf of them our thanks go to Martin Bereuter– all this wouldn’t have been possible. Thomas Sohm with his quiet and considerate nature bolstered our project managers Erich Reiner and Markus Regensburger time and again. We would also like to express our special thanks to Matheo Durfeld and his team (Heather, Manfred and Julius) in Canada. Their teamwork made it possible to translate this unique project into reality at a distance of 12,000 km. In them we haven’t just found business partners, but friends for life.

What is a house without an architect? Our Austria House has surely found one of the best in the industry. Many thanks to Martin Trepersburg and his team.
Special thanks and praise go to Mathias Bogner and Hannes Maschkan from the ÖOC – we have always been able to count on their help and support. Thanks also to Leo Wallner and Heinz Jungwirth - with their seal of approval the journey of the passive house was able to begin. With lots of charm and eager support, Nicole Mothes from the Canadian Embassy accompanied the ups and downs and never doubted the implementation of this project from its beginnings in 2006. Many thanks to the whole team at the Embassy in Vienna.
Last but not least... Helene, Hans Georg and Mathias from Sea to Sky all had important roles in this project. They, very successfully, attended to numerous conversations, contacts and appointments on our behalf in Canada – they are a team you can truly trust implicitly.
If you want to find an exemplary commune for others with foresight, comprehension, innovation and repartee, Whistler is unbeatable. Many thanks to Bob MacPherson and Ken Melamed and the whole municipal council for their support and trust in five medium-sized companies from Vorarlberg and Tyrol. Without them the dream of building a passive house for the Green Olympics in Canada would have remained just a dream.
A special thanks also to WKO International for their generous support!
We would like to wish all those who visit this house good luck, success and joy in life – in this house, which bears the blessing and name of our friend Paulus Freisinger, whom we lost last year in a tragic accident in the mountains.
From all of us at APG and all its partners, subcontractors and sponsors, we wish that these Games will bring joy, enthusiasm and hopefully also the start of a new and more sensitive way of handling Mother Earth!
